Dear parents and parishioners,

We need volunteers to make each Faith Formation class go smoothly! There are several areas we need help. From weekly commitments to once or twice a semester, you choose what works for you!

Highest Commitment Level

• Catechist - as a catechist, you are responsible for planning and teaching the lessons to the children in the classroom each week. Training and pre-planning are involved in this that will require more time outside of the Wednesday night classtime.

Weekly Commitment Level

• Catechist aide - work with one classroom throughout the year as an aide. You will help the catechist with classroom management, crafts, participate in all weekly activities the catechist has planned, and generally help the children to grow in faith as a fellow Christian on the journey.
• Little Blessings nursery caregiver - take care of toddlers whose parents are in the adult class or are teaching the other classes/on the youth ministry teams

Semester Commitment Level

• Registration host - at the kickoff and the first 2 or 3 weeks of classes, we need extra people to help Ms. Betty with collecting fees, getting children to the right classes, and in general help with registration. You can volunteer for each of these weeks or just one or two.
• Christmas Program/Dinner Coordinator - Dec. 19th is our Christmas program, work with Mrs. Beth to plan and prepare for the evening.
• May Crowning Mass/Dinner Coordinator - May 1st is the May Crowning, work with Mrs. Beth to plan and prepare for the evening.
• Mass Coordinator - there will be several Masses the Faith Formation children will participate in, Mrs. Beth needs help with planning and preparing for these.
• Substitute Catechist - be available to step in when a catechist cannot be here. Usually, the other main catechist is here, so the duties are similar to Catechist Aide.
• Parking Lot Safety Coordinator - coordinate parents to volunteer each week to watch children before/during/after classes to ensure their safety, communicate with those volunteers, setting up a schedule for them to follow, making sure the flashlights are working and we have any necessary equipment – vests, cones, etc.
• Parking Lot Safety Volunteer - once or twice a semester volunteer to come early, stay late to ensure the safety of the children

As you can see there are many ways to help and we need every parent to make this program run smoothly! Please volunteer in some way this year! There are also many opportunities to learn along side your children, so please pay attention to these and mark your calendars to participate!
